An Eye on Toronto Dollars!

Eye Magazine
has a holiday feature on Toronto Dollars that transcends its impact during the holiday shopping season.

Thank You!

Two of our volunteers, Maggie Fraser and Tammy Yamazaki (shown left), are going to leave us at the end of this month. They are the longest serving volunteers; they have been sitting at the booth and selling T$ many Saturdays for over 4 years. We wish them well and thank them for all their effort and support over the years!

Count Me In 2003 Launch

Norma Seymour, local resident was one of the first to exchange $100.00 for one hundred Toronto Dollars. By so doing she created 10 dollars for the campaign to raise twenty thousand dollars for free youth programs at the St. Lawrence Community Recreation Centre.

Receipts for Change

Local resident, Jerry Rose, is collecting Dominion receipt tapes for our Neighbourhood Youth project of free after-school programming at the Community and Recreation centre. So far Jerry has collected $53,000 worth of tapes and when he has $100,000 then he will be able to exchange them for $250.00. If you want to participate, you can drop your receipt tapes off either at the Toronto Dollar booth in St. Lawrenece Market, or at the concierge desk at either 80 Front Street or 35 Church St. If you would like to put up a poster in your building to support this venture, you can contact Toronto Dollar at (416) 361-0466 and we will put you in touch with Jerry. Thank you for your efforts Jerry! In the words of past-president Joy Kogawa, "Every tiny action makes more waves that ripple farther than we can imagine."

Day-Work Wanted

In association with Toronto Dollar and Community First, Inc. Bob Kemp, the Community Co-ordinator of the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Assocation, is looking to provide day-work in the St. Lawrence Market area. If you have (or know of) an opportunity in the area, please contact Bob Kemp with any information. All day-workers are paid in Toronto Dollars, thus giving back to the community again.
