Visitors from Japan

Toronto Dollar has received a number of visitors from Japan. The most recent is Mr. Masahiro Hanada from the Kuriyama Eco-money Institute. Kuriyama will be the setting for an international conference on community currencies to be held in August this year. Mr. Hanada reports that the growing aging population in Kuriyama and the fraying of traditional family ties is one of the prime motivations in working with community currencies, to build and strengthen community connections.

Count me in Youth Campaign

Our present focus is to increase free youth programming at the St. Lawrence Community Centre. Our goal is to raise $20,000 for youth programming which is derived from coverting $200,000 Canadian Dollars!
